Hi there! If you're looking for a tutor that focuses on student led learning and deep understanding, as well as coping with exam conditions, then you've come to the right place. I've recently completed my PhD in Mathematics at the University of Surrey and now I want to pass on some of the knowledge I've acquired during my education on to the next generation.
Whether your child is struggling with mathematical concepts, exam conditions or simply wants to challenge themselves to go to the next level, I can deliver great results. What I teach is entirely governed by the student, giving them control over their own education, but I make sure that I'm constantly checking the latest specifications for most exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, WJEC, OCR) to maintain relevance. I have patience to work with any ability to hopefully get them to succeed; as one of my old lecturers said "There's no such thing as a stupid question, provided you learn something from it!"
So if you're interested in my services, please feel free to get in touch.
2016-2019: Mathematics Demonstrator, Surrey University - Alongside my PhD, I ran seminars for undergraduates to ask questions in topics that they found difficult on the course. I also marked worksheets and offered lab support in Excel.
2013-2016: Student Leader and Subject Tutor, Centre for Widening Participation, Equality and Social Inclusion (CWPESI), Aberystwyth University - As a student leader, I helped run outreach days to engage local school pupils in STEM subjects; events such as STEM Week and Subject Days were particularly popular. I was also able to travel to these schools and run extra sessions after school for GCSE Foundation Tier students.
I also a volunteer at a local Scout Troop in Guildford and have done so for the last 4 years.
