Working with students and adults who want to better themselves is a joy. I like challenges and teaching my students by establishing a good working relationship, finding their problem areas, helping them work them out and creating deeper levels of understanding. With challenges come satisfaction in seeing the sparkling eyes of my smiling students when they finally get it, be it a language, literature or mathematic issue.
I am Hungarian, married an Englishman 15 years ago, and now I am a British/Hungarian citizen. I have learnt English as a foreign language which gives me a great advantage: I have a very good understanding of English grammar :) I built on that when I studied Linguistics at University. I am a bit of a language geek. I enjoy the creating and decoding of texts, their subtleties and how they work. More than that though, I enjoy teaching others to see these things for themselves.
My Maths teaching came about as parents kept asking if I could help their children. Since then, I have taught Maths with success at both Primary and Secondary levels, including many successful GCSE preparations.
Successful private tutor of English and Maths, five years, more than 70 satisfied students.
I teach English as a foreign language as well. I have tutored KS2, KS3, KS4, KS5 students at different levels. I have worked with university students and with future teachers helping with their QTS Maths test. I teach Maths up to GCSE level.
Previously, I worked for several years as a teacher of English in secondary and A-level schools.
Before that, for two years, I worked as a teaching assistant delivering one-to-one tuition and group sessions for children with different learning difficulties while I was getting my degree at the Open University, English Literature and Language BA.
Before all of these, I worked in the corporate world. I had the fortune to work with the management of two big international companies in Budapest and Prague in assistant and office manager roles. These years served as great teachers of life.
