My most important skills for this position are my motivation, my communication
ability and my experience in England as an English student.
Since 2008 my dream has been to master English as an adult learner, to become
an English teacher and eventually have the opportunity to travel the world while
teaching. I purposely decided to quit my well-paid job in Italy as the Sales Manager of a renowned multinational back in 2007 to reach this goal, even though it led to a relatively uncertain future.
Undoubtedly though it was what I really wanted to do and a great new start to
the next stage in my life.
As a former sales person, statistics teacher, maths teacher and sailing coach, I know how
important it is to be a great listener, whilst also being able to engage with people
through simple, clear and direct conversation (especially with children). Indeed,
communication is not just about the sound of one’s voice, it’s about how to
express ideas and feelings effectively. This is most crucial when considering unreal
or abstract situations, which can be a frequent part of everyday speech.
Last but not least, my six-year experience as an English student in the UK has
positioned me as an expert in understanding the difficulties a non-native speaker
has when learning English. This includes how to find the right motivation, what
tricks to use to acquire the new language and what is disheartening for a student
approaching the language for the first time.
On top of that, I can communicate with international learners at all levels.
My work experience has been always in Sales and Teaching.
After my master’s degree in Economics and business, I worked as the Sales Area Manager for two multinationals and the Statistic and maths teacher for a private company.
Since I have become a qualified English teacher here in England, I have been teaching English in London and in Spain to children aged 8 to 17 and adults.
I am particularly skilled at preparing students for exams, such as Cambridge certifications exams; ESOL exams; Trinity College exams; GCSE Exams and Life in the UK exam.
