My name is Eleanor and I am a GCSE Maths, English, Biology and Chemistry tutor. I have been tutoring for over six years to date - in Cambridge, Bristol and now London.
At GCSE, I received 9 A*s (now levels 8-9) and 4 As (level 7). At A Level, I received all As in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, English Literature, Biology and Chemistry.
I now have graduated from the University of Bristol with a First Class degree in Law.
My years of cumulative experience have led me to work with students from a variety of backgrounds and with a variety of needs. I am empathetic, observant and adaptable, which means that I tailor my lessons and approaches to each individual student.
Moreover, I believe that it is beneficial for the student to have a single tutor for his or her core subjects, as it provides a sense of regularity and the confidence to build a comfortable working relationship.
I have a detailed understanding and familiarity with the curricula of each of the subjects I teach; across the different examination boards (AQA, OCR, EdExcel, WJEC, Cambridge IGCSE etc.). More than subject content, I also teach my students examination technique - skills to ensure they reach the top marks possible when it comes to the final test. I find that, often, this is where even the brightest students can falter.
I understand the stresses and difficulties associated with GCSEs; having two brothers currently going through it! Therefore, my attitude is always positive and patient, but motivating and direct at the same time.
It is important to me that I get to know my students; and that I have time to adequately prepare and engage in lessons. Therefore, I will not be taking more than 5 students at any one time.
Please get in touch with any questions or to discuss an initial meeting.
All the best,
I have been tutoring for six years to date. I have extensive experience working with young adults and adolescents from different backgrounds and with different abilities.
