Through both years of experience and the drive behind my still ongoing scholastic commitments - studying for a PhD - I bring a passionate and lively approach to the study of English. I believe that literature and language can be accessible and rewarding for all students. I aim to inspire and bring confidence whilst underpinning my teaching with academic rigour, exam technique and attention to writing conventions. I am therefore suited to tutoring both a struggling GCSE student in the English curriculum, right through to boosting the attainment of University-level students in English and more specialised arts and humanities areas. I enjoy tutoring across these levels, adapting and tailoring approaches for any and all students.
I have a diverse range of tutoring and teaching experience across one-to-one, group-tuition and school-based settings. Specialising centrally in English Language and Literature, I have 200+hrs of experience teaching students ranging from KS1, mostly GCSE and A-level, through to University-level. As well as English, I have experience tutoring in History and surrounding arts and humanities disciplines. I have a proven track record of GCSE students attaining 7 and 8's, and University students receiving high 2.1 and 1.1's.
